Private 3 Mart Azizoğlu Primary School belongs to a unique cooperative. It is called Ç.E.K. (Contemporary Education Cooperation). This cooperation has got dormitories, kindergarten and our school. It is established with “raising children from kindergarten to the university in a contemporary, democratic and secular way” as its motto. And it is special because it is not owned by a person. It is governed by shareholders, each one of whom desires leaving a peaceful and contemporary country to the next generations.
Being a contemporary co-operative, Ç.E.K. 3 Mart Azizoğlu Primary School, gives great importance to the learning of foreign languages and other cultures. That’s why we prepare foreign languages shows, English dramas, singing choruses in three languages amongst other features.
On 23rd April 1920, our Grand National Assembly was established. And, the founder of the Turkish public, Atatürk gave this day to the children of the Republic. From that day on we celebrate 23rdApril with traditional dances, folk music, poems and art works.
Every 23rd April all state governors including the prime minister and president give their seats to the children. The National Assembly of Children meets and discuss National matters.
Every child of our republic celebrates this day with their friends. And this day is not only dedicated to the Turkish children but also to all nations’ children. This is because every child is seen as a hope of our future and each child is special.

About the Project
We have done a survey with our first graders after their experiences with the traditional and modern dances along with The Netherlands’ and Catalunia’s cultural and musical presentations. It is very good to see that every student loved to learn other cultures by sharing theirs and they really enjoyed doing this Project. I used especially the song, "Happy" as a tool in my lessons such as to motivate or focus the children into the lesson. Twenty two students of our 1-B class attended and here are the results of our mini survey.
