International week

On the 1st of  February the UB started welcoming the international students in an international week to help them to get to know the campus, surroundings and catalan culture.

We had classes about:

•Differences between a traveler and a tourist

•Catalan dances, music and tradition (festivals)

•Sport in Catalunya

•International heroes in children's literature

•Surviving Spanish

•Surviving Catalan

There was also a hiking up 3 little hills to have a great view over Barcelona.

During the week I got to know a lot of international students. The teachers were also super friendly and even prepared wine and some typical catalan snacks for everyone.

A very personal experience:

On friday I rode my bike to the Campus (its located on the northernest side of Barcelona up a hill) and I reached it after 1hour and 20 minutes. The head of the international relations Miguel Robert (also a sports teacher) saw this and when he entered the class for the next time, he was holding some copies of google maps in his hands, on which he marked the best way to get to the campus from where I live. This was such a flattering and surprisingly warm hearted gesture for me. He also promised to ride his bike with me some days in the beginning of March :-).
